Unboxing Instructions
-
- Open box by peeling tape or making a very shallow cut. The fish bag is very close to the top of the box so be carful to not puncture the bag while opening the box.
- Float UNOPENED bags for 15-20 minutes in your pond to equalize water temperature. DO NOT open bags to add pond water to aid in the temperature equalization.
- After the temperature equalizes, open the bags and pour fish and water into a separate clean tub or bowl.
- Remove fish from bowl and introduce fish into pond or quarantine tank. DO NOT put dirty shipping water into your quarantine tank or pond.
- Close off or greatly reduce the water flow through the skimmer for the first 48 hours if possible. New Koi sometimes swim into the skimmer looking for a place to hide.
- If possible, cover the pond with a net for first 24 hours. New Koi sometimes are prone to jumping especially if new water quality is different from what they are used to.
- Closely monitor Ammonia and pH levels.
